The Sports Injury and Prevention seminar for Hull and East Riding is being staged in the dressing rooms at the KC Stadium, which are normally home to the professional footballers of Hull City and the Super League stars of Hull FC. The free seminar is open to all amateur sports clubs in the region and takes place next month (Thursday 22nd March 2012 from 6.30pm to 8pm). The programme has been supported by NHS Hull with the aim of reducing the number of recreational and amateur sports people unnecessarily visiting A&E, when they sustain an injury while training or playing. The session will be led by fully qualified Sports Physiotherapists and Rehabilitators who have previously worked with Super League clubs, Elite Yorkshire Academies and the Humberside Triathlon Team. Topics to be covered are scheduled to include expert advice on injury prevention, how to manage injuries when they occur, common sports injuries and how mental health can affect your recovery progress and future prevention. Anyone interested in reserving a space needs to do so in advance and should contact: Rob Fuller on 07877 235 231 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The Annual Health Check in its simplest guide is an annual form that each club has to complete and return to its parent County FA showing how it adheres to the FA Charter Standard criteria and plans to continue to meet the criteria during that season. In its more effective form it will allow clubs to align coaches to their teams, show when their awards expire, identify the volunteer workforce within the club, access the welfare status of individuals within the club and allow the use of FA Member Services to assist club officials in administrating their club. Please contact Jack Matthews, Football Development Officer on 01482 221158 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to access your form now. Any club that does not access and return their form by Friday 30th March 2012 will have their FA Charter Standard status suspended. |
